The philosopher Alvin Plantinga has written an important book on Science and Religion entitled Where the Conflict Really Lies: Science, Religion, and Naturalism(see http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0199812098?ie=UTF8&tag=thneyoreofbo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0199812098.

The prominent philosopher (and atheist) Thomas Pagel reviews it and praises it a recent edition of the New York Review of Book at http://www.nybooks.com/articles/archives/2012/sep/27/philosopher-defends-religion/?page=2.

Hello Stephen, thanks for this tip. I wonder if Plantinga would be willing to defend the Baha'i religion? He seems to restrict his analysis to western Christianity, so is really only defending it as he understands it, relative to scientific atheism. So he doesn't speak for all "people of faith" and lacks, for example, a perspective on Islam and knowledge. But I haven't read his book and should do it before commenting further. The review is quite good.
